The Beast
The Beast in more detail!
...and this is the Beast, an original Josef Rieger from 1927.

It is nicely set up with Larsen strings on top,
Obligato G and C strings, and a Bois d'Harmonie tailpiece.
Its companion is a nice Hoyer bow, which - unfortunately! -
is only second best to an Arcus Concerto bow that I tried recently, but which I can not afford at the moment. C'est la vie...
But, and that are the good news, my Liebenzeller Gold is helping me a lot to cope with this temporary financial shortage.

By the way, I call it the Beast as it one hell of an active instrument with an enormous bass. Compared to some of these refined French thingies the Beast sounds the way a cello actually should:
warm, rich, and forte...
Its Maker!
