It is nicely set up with Larsen strings on top, Obligato G and C strings, and a Bois d'Harmonie tailpiece. Its companion is a nice Hoyer bow, which - unfortunately! - is only second best to an Arcus Concerto bow that I tried recently, but which I can not afford at the moment. C'est la vie... But, and that are the good news, my Liebenzeller Gold is helping me a lot to cope with this temporary financial shortage. By the way, I call it the Beast as it one hell of an active instrument with an enormous bass. Compared to some of these refined French thingies the Beast sounds the way a cello actually should: warm, rich, and forte... |
